Tom’s fundraising mission helps put men’s charities in the spotlight

Trafford College Group Marketing Coordinator Tom Bowden has completed the epic Three Peaks challenge raising over £260 for men’s health charities, including prostate and testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.

Tom, who has also been growing a ‘mo for a bro’ throughout November, walked the notoriously grueling Yorkshire peaks in an incredible 8 hours and 43 minutes.

Accompanied on the trek by his good friends, Eden Harris and Kieran Riding, the trio climbed the first peak in the pitch dark after deciding it would be best to start the walk in the early hours of the morning.

Tom commented:

“Movember is a charity that I’ve been involved with for a quite a few years; I’m always happy to grow a moustache, raise some money and have a bit of fun throughout the challenge.

“I fell in love with hiking at the start of 2020 and did it as much as I could through lockdown, so my mates and I thought it would be a good idea to challenge ourselves and do the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. However, we struggled to find a time that would suit us all with all the lockdown changes. As all three of us were doing Movember, we put plans in place to do the walk in the same month and try and raise even more money for a great charity.”

Not deterred by the exhausting experience, Tom is already planning his next challenge for 2021.
