Students Star in Netflix Horror Movie

An action horror starring our students in a variety of roles from ‘armed officer’ to ‘animated corpse’ is now available to watch on the streaming giant Netflix.

Redcon-1 is set in post zombie-apocalyptic England and sees a squad of eight Special Forces soldiers assigned to a mission to rescue a group of scientists from a city ruled by the undead.

Our young learners took part in the filming in 2016, directed by Chee Keong Cheung and produced by Carlos Gallardo (El Mariachi trilogy) and co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, gaining an exclusive insight into every aspect of the production process, from media make-up to music, lighting, set design, special effects and cinematography.

At the time, Cheung said: “I was always a fan of films like 28 Days Later, early George Romero films, and war films like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down. I thought a fusion of the two would be interesting. I think the zombie phenomenon is growing and it is great to be part of that community.”

Rated 18, the zombie flick can be streamed on Netflix at https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81097713
