The Trafford College Group cemented its commitment to providing impartial career advice to its students, as it hosted one of the largest careers events in Greater Manchester last week.

The ‘Higher Education Careers Week’ event, took place at Stockport College’s University Centre between 25th- 29th March.

The event was specifically aimed at Higher Education students, who were given the opportunity to obtain advice and guidance on their chosen career paths.

Hundreds of students were given time away from their usual study schedule to ensure they were able to benefit from specialist talks about the opportunities available to them upon completion of their college courses. They also got the chance to meet a number of universities and employers at the ‘Future Festival’, which saw a multitude of representatives from various higher education providers and local organisations in attendance, supporting the next generation of Greater Manchester’s young professionals.

Guest Speakers including Centre Screen productions, AGI Criminal Solicitors, Pure Innovations and Digital Stockport to name a few, visited lessons throughout the week providing students with inspiring and informative talks and presentations, and rounding off the sessions with interactive Q&A opportunities.

Students were also able to obtain advice on volunteering and career opportunities, and graduate schemes which are currently available, whilst networking with potential employers such as the Greater Manchester Police, Stockport Council and the NHS.
