Building Apprentices lay the foundation for Award Winning Company

In a year that has seen many students face unprecedented challenges, one company continues to prove they have what it takes to provide local apprentices with a direct route to a successful career in the construction industry.

E P Muldoon Building Contractors have been crowned Building Company of the Year at the Federation of Master Builders Awards 2021, a title that they have credited to the ongoing support and dedication of their apprenticeship provision provided by Stockport College.

Project Manager Paul Muldoon said “We currently have two apprentices with us at the moment who have worked first-hand on the projects that led up to our receipt of the regional award. What many people may not be aware of is that 90% of our team, from our founder to current apprentices, have all completed their qualifications through Stockport College, making the institution integral to our company’s success”.

The family run building company based in Stockport pride themselves on their client relationships built on honesty and integrity, with the skills and knowledge to establish themselves as a regional leader.

Judges at the Federation of Master Builder Awards said “we were impressed by E P Muldoon’s keen focus on work standards and great commitment to their staff. It is clear this is a company that rewards hard work and commitment by supporting their own as they grow and develop their careers, investing in educational courses for their team as well as offering private healthcare as an employee benefit”.

The current high demand for apprentices means that now is the perfect time to get into industries such as construction, engineering, science, education, and hospitality. Find out more about apprenticeships or search our apprenticeship vacancies here.
