Enquiries top 100 on first day of College’s new online chat facility

Stockport College has launched an online chat facility to support students and the local community with queries during the period of lockdown.

From course enquiries from prospective applicants to queries about student finance and support, the College’s expert team of advisors handled almost 100 chats on its first day of operation at the end of March.

Changes to the College’s admissions process have generated plenty of questions, as this year will be the first time many prospective students complete the whole process online, with some students submitting teacher assessments following the cancellation of GCSE exams.

College Marketing Manager Elaine Andrews said: “Online chat is proving so popular because you get an instant response rather than sending an email and waiting for a reply. We want to ensure we give our current learners and prospective learners the opportunities to contact us in ways that best work for them.”

Anyone with a question can access the live chat facility, open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4pm, by typing straight into the pop up box on the College website.
