Staff and students to benefit from free interactive boxing videos

Sport England team and the Sport Department are launching six weeks of free interactive boxing videos for staff, students, friends and families.

College project lead has prepared a series of six weeks of boxing video tutorials, recorded by England Boxing affiliated coach and amateur fighter, Jack William Greig who is also the Director of Positive Impact Sports to boost lockdown fitness.

Jack of Rotherham’s Millennium Boxing Gym will be teaching the correct stance, guard and how to throw a punch correctly, directly to his mitt on screen – just don’t go too close, this guy knows how to fight!

Jack, who has been working alongside the project lead at the College, said: “I want to spread that positivity and love, and teach people something in lockdown. Who knows, this could be the start of a new journey for you into boxing.”

The boxing fitness exercises come in two-minute ‘rounds’ in sessions lasting no longer than 20 minutes and the videos include general fitness training sessions. To access the free clips, see the College YouTube channel or Facebook page from Monday 25th January.

Sport Activator William Craven and Sport England project Lead Leah Greig added: “We wanted to provide something dynamic for staff, students, friends and their families to use to keep them fit at home. You can access these videos in your own time to suit your work or studies, and we’re loving the interactive element. Now’s the time to get boxing fit!”
