Course Overview

The hairdressing industry is a fast developing skill set that is different every day. There are over 30,000 Hair Salons within the UK and currently taking on new stylists every year. If you are passionate about Hairdressing and wanting to expand your skills and knowledge; then this is the right course for you.

Our Level 2 programme is designed to prepare you for working on clients. It will allow you to gain confidence and skills in becoming a junior stylist within a Hair Salon. We will ensure you are supported every step of the way; ensuring you succeed and progress to a career in the Hairdressing industry.

The main purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Women’s Hairdressing is to enable you to develop you hair skills, techniques and knowledge, which will prepare you to progress to the next year of Hairdressing.

The course is a 2 year programme. You will achieve your Level 2 Certificate in the first year.

Completion of a successful interview with a Hairdressing Expert is also required.

All units in this quallification have been specifically designed to prepare you for working on clients in a real salon environment. You will develop knowledge of the hairdressing sector and work alongside colleagues completing clients in a real salon environment.
You will gain skills of demonstrating professional standards and expectations needed to work in a salon.
These skills you will learn on the first year journey will be carried through to your second year.

You will learn colouring and cutting basic techniques to prepare you for progression onto the 2nd year – Level 2 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing.

You will progress on to your Level 2 Diploma for the second year.

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knnowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electonic or paper format.

Evidence of prior learning or attainment
Written questions
Oral questions

Case studies

The Tuition fee for this course is £823.00 You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £20,888 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester)
