Course Overview

30 Hours, 1 evening per week 18:00 – 21:00pm

This introductory practical course is for people interested in learning the basic principles and techniques of laying bricks and blocks. You also find out what a cavity wall is and how to build one, learn the theory of mortar mixing and have an introduction to drawing specifications.

No formal qualifications are required, you will have an interview with the specialist tutor to discuss your individual needs and expectations of the course outcomes.

The Level 1 Award in Bricklaying qualification has been developed for delivery in College; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. The course is designed to give basic knowledge and practical skills in Brickwork to enable you to undertake small projects such as garden walls and planters.

The Tuition fee for this course is £250.00 You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £20,888 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester)
