Course Overview

Discover a creative and fulfilling hobby or even a potential career in fashion design!

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some sewing experience, a beginners’ dressmaking and pattern drafting course can provide you with the knowledge and skills to start creating your own clothing and explore your creativity in the world of fashion.

This course will enable you to gain valuable sewing skills that will save you money on alterations and store-bought clothing. It will also help you to understand the process of creating patterns and sewing garments, which can be a foundation for more advanced projects.

Please be informed that participants are required to have a sewing box containing essential equipment. Additionally, each participant is responsible for bringing their own sewing machine to the class.

Learners will need to bring in their own pattern and fabric, as well as any haberdashery such as thread, zips and buttons. Suggested patterns include basic skirts, slip dresses or trousers, such as pyjama bottoms or joggers.

Participants are not required to possess any previous knowledge or expertise. We welcome individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and a willingness to actively engage and contribute.
