Course Overview

This short course will help you improve your basic technical camera skills. This course is aimed at beginners who are new to owning a digital SLR camera. You will be instructed on how to navigate all the functions that your camera has to offer. You will need to spend a lot of time between classes taking pictures.

There are no entry requirements, you will need an SLR camera – which can be digital. An example of a camera which would be good for the course is a Canon 1300D

Learners will need to own a DSLR camera before they start this course

You could progress onto the Intermediate SLR Photography course.

This is a practical course and there is no formal assessment however you will be asked to complete a RARPA confidence survey.
This will happen at the start and end of the course and will record your progress in this subject.

The Tuition fee for this course is £75.00
You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £20,888 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester)
