This course is aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning and is designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in Applied Sciences and forensic science. The course gives students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training in Applied Sciences related fields.
Course Requirements
Whilst applications are considered on an individual basis, offers are usually based on a requirement to have: 64 UCAS points L3 qualification in a relevant subject Other related L3 qualifications 4 GCSEs at grade C (grade 4) or above including maths and English Access to Higher Education Diploma in a relevant area
What you will Learn
Assessment
The programme is assessed mainly using internally assessed centre-devised assignments. One core unit at Level 4 will be assessed by Pearson-set assignments targeted at specific skills. This will include a range of assessment methods including reports, case studies, practical assessments, project work, data analysis, research, investigation, problem-solving tasks and portfolios of evidence.
Progression
Students may progress to the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Applied Sciences is recognised by higher education providers as meeting admission requirements for many relevant degree programmes in subject specialisms such as BSc (Hons) Forensic Science / Chemistry / Biology.
