Course Overview

This course is a great introduction to the automotive industry, where you will develop a strong foundation of skills and knowledge to enable you to progress on to the next level of study.

Using a variety of tools and equipment in our industry standard workshops, you will discover how spark and compression ignition engines work, explore lubrication, steering, braking and suspensions while gaining an understanding of electrical systems.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 2 or above (including maths and English Language).

What you will Learn

The Level 1 Diploma is designed to give you a basic level knowledge of progression within the motor industry.

Assessment

You will be assessed by completion of module packs, one online examination, workshop practical assessments and e-portfolio submission.

Progression

Upon completion of this course, you may choose to continue your studies with us at level 2 by progressing on to the Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair – IMI Level 2 Diploma. Alternatively, you may choose to complete an apprenticeship to earn while you learn.
