Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care is a one year, full time course that gives a coherent study of the sector. It is intended as an Applied General qualification, and is equivalent in size to 1.5 A levels.
If a career in midwifery, social work, teaching or working as a paramedic appeals then this specialist course will give you an understanding of anatomy and physiology, communication, health and social care services, equality and diversity in the health and social care sectors. You will also complete placements and develop your understanding of health and safety, the lifespan of individuals and psychological/ sociological perspectives, preparing you to work in the Health or Social care sectors.

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
