The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Building Services Engineering are aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. Higher Nationals provide a wide-ranging study of the construction and the built environment sector and are designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in construction and the built environment.
In addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the study of the construction and the built environment sector, BTEC Higher Nationals give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training.
A one-year course with a one-day attendance per week on Mondays from 08:45 until 19:15.
Advanced Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Thermofluids, Further Mathematics for Construction, Environmental Assessment & Monitoring, Group Project, Personal Professional Development and Building Management Systems.
On successful completion of the Level 5 BTEC Higher National Diploma, students can develop their careers through:
1. Entering employment
2. Continuing existing employment
3. Linking with the appropriate vendor accredited certificates
4. Committing to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
5. Progressing to university
6. Progressing to a higher apprenticeship scheme, in conjunction with progression to a university degree course
