Course Overview

By training in our professional salon and working on real clients, you will gain a range of hairdressing skills and techniques to support you in your career. Specialising in styling and dressing hair, consultation, colour and cutting techniques to an advanced level, you will be ready to work in the industry with confidence.

You will also be monitoring health and safety in the salon and learning how to promote products to help support business practices, which will make you more employable. Additionally, you will learn about creativity and colour correction in this all-round hairdressing qualification.

This programme has specifically been designed around what the industry requires you to need. We have done this by speaking to several employers and getting their opinion on the course and units we offer.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above (including maths and/or English Language).

What you will Learn

The skills you will learn are to qualify you as a hairdresser at Level 3 in the hairdressing industry. It will provide opportunities for you to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a hairdresser.

Whether you choose to go self-employed; mobile or even work abroad. The skills you will learn on this course are essential to any career in the Hair industry you choose.

On this programme you will work alongside extremely professional Hair experts who have trained with Sassoon; Wella; Matrix and gained Master Colour Expert status.

You will enter into various competitions; take part in photoshoots; attend several seminars and trips to Manchester and even London. This year is your time to shine!

Assessment

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format.
