Course Overview

Our Full Time GCSE programme is one of a kind in Greater Manchester and provides a pathway for new arrivals in the UK and home-schooled students to acquire GCSEs in order to progress further with their education. It also offers a chance for students to retake their qualifications to get into a particular course.

The Full Time GCSE Programme gives learners the opportunity to study 4 GCSEs in one academic year. As with all Level 2 courses, any learners who have not attained passes (grade 4 or above) in their GCSE Maths or English Language will need to study these as part of their 4 subjects. Subject to demand and availability, we are sometimes able to offer a fifth GCSE in a modern foreign language such as Arabic, Chinese, and/or Spanish to native speakers.

Students who continue their journey with us for A Levels will also be able to pick up additional GCSEs the following year to further enhance their profile.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above including Maths and English Language (achieved in the most recent summer examination series).

Students who have not attained any GCSEs in their last academic year (I.e., if they have arrived from abroad or were home schooled) will need to take a short assessment to ensure they are working at a grade 3 (or above) level in Maths and English Language.

Students born on or before 31st August 2007 will require an interview.

What you will Learn

Subject choices may vary, depending on each learner’s timetable, as well as the site they are attending but there are usually options to study both science and humanities subjects.

Assessment

GCSE exams are held at the end of the year during May and June. All subjects are exam-based.
