Throughout this course, you will be learning advanced craft techniques including traditional roofing, advanced staircase fitment, site management, site planning, specification and details. Maths and Geometry are a key requirement of this level as you will be calculating roofing geometry, areas and use of space on site. You will also learn about budgets, advising clients and insulation and conductive properties whilst using fixed and transportable saws, ban saws and planes.

This course is for anyone that wants to work as a site carpenter in the construction sector. It will allow you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Site Carpentry.
Successful completion of this qualification allows you to progress into employment or on to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations.
The Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry course has seven mandatory units that you must complete successfully to achieve the qualification. You will be assessed through practical assignments and online multiple choice tests for each unit.
This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
