Course Overview

If you are considering a career in the nail industry, it is essential to have the correct training. This ensures that your clients receive good service using appropriate health and safety procedures. This course offers you the skills required to work as a Nail Technician to Level 2 Standard. You will receive training in manicure, pedicure, nail art, nails and artificial structures. In addition, you will learn about working in the industry, business practices, monitoring and maintaining stock levels.

Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English Language and/or maths).

What you will Learn

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: the application and maintenance of nail enhancements to create a natural finish, nail art services, providing manicure and pedicure treatments, fulfilling salon reception duties, promoting additional products and services to clients and effectiveness at work. All units in this qualification are mandatory.
This qualification is for anyone seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed nail technician. This qualification is based on the nail services required by industry. It is recognised by the UK’s leading professional bodies (The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)) as being fit for purpose for preparing you for a career as a junior nail technician.

Assessment

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format.

Audio-visual media
Evidence of prior learning or attainment
Oral questions
