Course Overview

If you are keen to learn the basics of hair and beauty, then our course will give you the confidence to develop a range of skills that will help you with your career aims. The course includes techniques and knowledge, which will prepare learners to progress to the next level of the sector they choose to move on too.

Course Requirements

You must have a keen interest in the hair and beauty sector and demonstrate an ability to communicate and follow the professional standards set by the awarding bodies.
You must be prepared to study the complete study programme; this includes maths and English, employability, enrichments and tutorials.
You must be prepared to follow salon rules at all times to begin your journey into the sector at a high standard.

What you will Learn

This Hair and Beauty qualification introduces you to a range of practical skills from across the hair and beauty industries and will help you to develop your own personal and social skills.

All the units in this qualification directly prepare learners for further study in the hair and beauty sector. You can find more information about units on the mandatory units section.

If you have few or no qualifications, but want a career in hair and beauty, then this course is for you.

Assessment

You will complete a portfolio to show the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format.

Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence and how to show practical achievement, and understanding of the knowledge required to successfully complete this qualification. It is an assessment booklet along with the portfolio of evidence that will serve as the prime source of evidence for this qualification.

You will be graded a Pass, Merit or Distinction based on your final grade for each unit.

Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up
Level 2 Diploma in Nail Services
Or any Level 2 programme across the college.

September – October – All classes you attend will be linked to hair, Make-Up, beauty and nails for this unit.
November – June – You will choose a sector that you wish to follow and attend practical classes linking to the below units.
