Course Overview

Learners must be19 years or over at the start of the course
Those wishing to teach in the lifelong learning sector including HE, FE, community.

Course Requirements

1.Post Graduate Certificate in Education
Degree in relevant specialism
GCSE English
GCSE Maths


2.Certificate in Education
Level 3 qualification in relevant specialism
GCSE English
GCSE Maths

Course Assessment

• Assignment –
Semester 1: Modules 1 and 2.
Semester 2: Module 2

• Research project –
Semester 2: Module 1

• Assessment of Teaching –
8 Observations receiving grade 3 or above

• Submission of a Professional Development Portfolio

Course Finance

£3,750 per year (2 year part time course)

You will need a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) certificate that has been issued within 12 months of the start of the course. You can apply for one at enrolment, for a fee, if necessary.
