Performing Engineering Operations (Mechanical) Level 2 Diploma

Course Overview

You will learn hand fitting skills and machining skills using lathes and milling machines. This course provides a good foundation for your future career. If you have already completed Level 1, this course will develop your knowledge and skills using the machines and build on key components in mechanical engineering.

Course Requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English and maths.

Course Progression

Level 3 National foundation Diploma in Engineering with a Grade C in maths is a requirement. The Performing Engineering Operations at Level 2 qualification forms a major component of the Engineering Apprenticeship Framework, so you could progress into the workplace and complete the Level 2 Tech Certificate or a Level 3 EAL Work Based Qualification.

Course Assessment

You will be continually assessed through observation, practical and written assessment techniques.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
