Course Overview
This Level 2 Painting and Decorating Diploma is designed for those who are continuing their studies in the construction industry and are gaining the specialist competencies they need as a painter and decorator. This course will enable you to acquire the dexterities as a decorator whilst seeking employment.
You will learn the importance of preparing surfaces for decoration, brush and roller painting, how to apply standard papers to ceilings and walls, decorative techniques and how to apply paint. You can look forward to hands-on work experience as well as a visit to the National Painting & Decorating Show.
You will learn the practical skills needed erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms, prepare surfaces for decoration, apply paint by brush and roller and how to apply wall coverings to ceilings and walls.
Your study programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the Level 3 Painting and Decorating course.
