If you’re passionate about games and want a career in a fast moving and exciting industry then this is the course for you.
You’ll be working with industry standard packages such as 3DS Max, Mudbox, Maya and Unreal Engine 4 to produce 3D Characters, Level designs, games and VR for a range of platforms.
The course has been developed in consultation with game design experts to ensure that the skills you’ll learn are a good fit for the industry. Local game developers will also be a involved during the course as guest speakers to advice on how to best develop your skills and industry networks.

All applications will be considered individually however offers will usually be based on:
64 UCAS points (those with 48 UCAS points will be considered for an interview)
BTEC Level 3 qualification (2 years) in relevant subject
Other related Level 3 qualifications
Normally 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or numeric score of 4/5 under newly reformed GCSE grading), including maths or English
An Access to Higher Education Diploma in relevant area
Related work experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
Assessments will be through a mixture of assignments and coursework.
£3,600 per year Part-Time,£6995 Per Year Full-Time. Fees are due at enrolment each year and can be paid either through a Student Loan or by your personal funds (an instalment plan is available if you are paying yourself).

Study trips and visits may be arranged throughout the course. These will be discussed, along with any costs, with you at the appropriate time.
Although not compulsory, students are advised to have a suitable gaming PC and a graphics tablet.

Work experience is not a compulsory element of the course however it is advantageous for students to have had some work experience. At the end of Year 1 you may wish to pursue some voluntary work experience of your choice, this would help to orientate yourself towards the world of work within the games industry.
Attendance on Trips/Visits will not affect your academic success but they will enhance your overall experience.
Upon successful completion of the first year of the course you will receive a Level 4 HNC in Creative Media Production (Game Development).
Upon successful completion of the full course you will receive an HND in Creative Media Production (Game Development).
Course Potential Careers
Achievement of the HND will enable you to apply for the final top-up year of a BA/BSc (Hons) in Game Design course at your chosen university. Please be aware that some universities may require additional 'bridging' units to be completed.
