Health & Social Care Level 2 First Certificate

Course Overview

With an emphasis on further developing skills to support and care for people in the wider community, this course will give you more specialist skills and understanding of Health and Social Care professions. By continuing to develop your interpersonal communication with others through practical assignments, creative activities, observations and practice you will also complete one day per week placement in a health or social care setting.

Course Requirements

You should have at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English and maths.

Course Progression

On achievement of a merit grade or above and a GCSE grade C either in English or maths, you can progress onto the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health & Social Care or the CACHE: Level 3 Diploma in Children, Care, Learning and Education (Early Years Educator). Alternatively you can enter employment.

Course Assessment

Portfolio of evidence, assignments, practical assessment in the workplace.
Two external assessments.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
