Health Fitness and Exercise Instruction Level 2 Diploma

Course Overview

Our specialist course in health, fitness and exercise instruction takes place at Sports Village in Woodley; a dynamic and professional sports centre and gym, surrounded by outdoor facilities. You will gain skills in anatomy and physiology, how to maintain health, safety and welfare in a variety of fitness environments, including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. With client care and motivating others part of the programme, you will feel confident working in industry.

Course Requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths.

This qualification is widely recognised as the industry’s minimum requirement to practice as a fitness instructor. It is for those who want to develop the knowledge, understanding and technical skills needed for a career in sport and active leisure as an employed/self-employed fitness instructor.

Course Progression

Level 3 Personal Training and employment as a gym instructor in a variety of leisure settings.

Course Assessment

Portfolio of evidence and practical assessments of professional competence and formal exams.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
