GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy)

Course Overview

This is a part time course requiring attendance to college two evenings a week for one academic year. The course starts in September with exams taking place in May or June. Science is essential in many jobs and for access to many of the higher levels of education in health care and other science-based jobs. You will be taught the basics of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It will teach you essential skills of critical thinking and an understanding of the world around us.

Course Requirements

Learners should have achieved GCSE English and maths prior to starting the course, normally at Grade C or 4.

GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy) introduces you to fundamental ideas in scientific theory and helps them learn practical skills through topical investigations. You will study a wide range of topics associated with Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Once you have completed this course you will be able to move on to Higher Education or an Access course.

Course Assessment

Examinations which take place in June.
There are two exams for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. A total of six exams.
Each exam is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
