Foundation Learning

Course Overview

We have a wide range of courses available at Entry 3 and Level 1. All learners will continue to study maths and English, employability skills and work related learning. In addition, you will have the opportunity to choose a vocational option, which you will study with industry professionals for 6 hours per week.

There are a range of Professional and Technical options available:
• Creative Industries
• Travel and Tourism
• Hair and Beauty
• Sport and Public Services
• Hospitality and Catering
• Construction Trades
• Health and Social Care
• Motor Vehicle Maintenance
• Business and Retail

All classes up to and including Level 1 courses have a skilled Learning Facilitator to assist in your learning. Foundation Learning students also have access to a Mentor who is dedicated to the department.

Course Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for Foundation Learning courses. All applicants will be asked to attend an assessment event, where the Foundation Learning Team will assess you to find the most suitable course for you.

Course Progression

These courses provide progression to a wide range of courses at a higher level, provided you meet the entry requirements.

Course Assessment

You will be assessed continually throughout the course.

Foundation Learning courses are designed to help you work towards higher levels of study or employment, whichever you prefer. All courses include maths and English, employability skills and work related learning. We will also work with you to help you find valuable work experience.
