This programme is aimed at those already working within the education sector as teaching assistants (TA’s), learning support assistants (LSA’s), pastoral staff, cover supervisors and those working towards Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Status.
The course aims to contribute to national and regional agendas; to develop the school and wider education workforce towards graduate level in order to meet relevant workforce standards and provide a relevant progression route through to Qualified Teacher Status pathways.
All applications will be considered individually however offers will usually be based on:
64 UCAS points (those with 48 UCAS points will be considered for an interview)
BTEC Level 3 qualification (2 years) in relevant subject
Other related Level 3 qualifications
Normally 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or numeric score of 4/5 under newly reformed GCSE grading), including maths or English
An Access to Higher Education Diploma in relevant area
Related work experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
You will also need a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) certificate that has been issued within 12 months of the start of the course. You can apply for one at enrolment, for a fee, if necessary.
The course includes a range of types of assessment tasks, with a balance between written and oral tasks. This reflects the dual emphasis on effective oral and written communication in the professional lives of graduates working in early years services. Additionally, a range of assessment tasks enables students to evidence their learning in different ways, supporting students with different strengths as learners. This approach also supports the development of different writing styles.
£6995 per year full time or £3,600 per year Part-time

This course is full-time and runs over 2 years. You will attend one day per week, spend two days in an appropriate setting and use the remaining time for independent study.
