Engineering Technologies Level 3 EAL

Course Overview

If you have an interest in following a career in mechanical engineering or have already completed the level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and/ or Level 2 – Certificate in engineering technologies would like to develop your skills further in engineering, then this course will give you a strong foundation for this.

Course Requirements

Level 2 Engineering Qualification or 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English or Maths at grade 4.

Course Skills & Benefits

This qualification covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, including health and safety requirements and communicating engineering information as well as developing core engineering skills.

Engineering Environmental Health and Safety
Engineering Organisational Efficiency and Improvement

Skills Specific (One of the following):
Advanced Turning
Maintenance Techniques
CAD
Quality & Inspection

Course Progression

Depending on which Level you start your study you can progress onto the next Level course or Engineering Apprenticeship or move into employment.
On completion of the level 3 you could go on to study the EAL Extended Diploma, study Higher Education at the University Centre at Stockport College or another university, or find employment in engineering related roles including Apprenticeships.

Course Assessment

Assessment is by online multiple choice exam, paper exam, observation and practical work.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
