Engineering Technologies Level 3 EAL Certificate

Course Overview

If you have an interest in following a career in mechanical engineering or have already completed the level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and/ or Level 2 – Certificate in engineering technologies would like to develop your skills further in engineering, then this course will give you a strong foundation for this. This course is also part of the advanced apprenticeship framework, so you would be gaining an industry recognised qualification in engineering.

Course Requirements

Level 2 Engineering Qualification or 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English or Maths at grade 4.

Course Skills & Benefits

This qualification covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, including health and safety requirements and communicating engineering information as well as developing core engineering skills.

Mandatory Units

Engineering environmental health and safety
Engineering organisational efficiency and improvement

Skills Specific (One of the following)
Advanced turning
Electrical and electronics engineering

Course Progression

Depending on which Level you start your study you can progress onto the next Level course or Engineering Apprenticeship or move into employment.
On completion of the level 3 you could go on to study higher education within our University Centre at Stockport College or another university or find employmen in engineering related roles.

Course Assessment

Assessment is by online multiple choice exam, paper exam, observation and practical work.
