Beginners Barbering College Certificate

Course Overview

will be run at Stockport and Altrincham Campus

The course is structured to develop basic barbering skills.

These skills will include an awareness of health and safety in a barbering environment.
• The history of barbering
• Clipper control and its basic uses
• Scissor and basic removal of length and layer
• Basic consultation and communication techniques
• Legal and legislation law
• Product use to style



Course Requirements

this course is for Adults Over 19+

you will need English /ESOL at Level 1

No previous barbering experience necessary

Course Progression

If successful on this programme you may be able to progress onto a part time evening Award in Gents Cutting or a Certificate in Barbering.

Course Assessment

Skills test and knowledge you will receive a certificate of participation.

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for those wishing to identify whether barbering is for them as a possible career change in the future.

You will be expected to wear closed toe shoes with a sensible heel and black clothes. Purchase of a brad Manikin head, Clipper with guards and scissors are essential to maximise learning. You may be required to provide live models to practise skills on.
