Beginners Barbering

Course Overview

Our 6 weeks’ beginner’s Barbering course gives you a great introduction to barbering cutting techniques.

During this course you’ll learn the basics of barbering on practice heads, the industry health and safety guidelines and how to correctly use your products and tools. This course also gives you experience of beard trimming, long hair trimming, cutting long and short layers, and cutting a bob. You will also cover clipper control and learn how to maintain your equipment. Throughout this course you will be assessed on all skills.

At the end of the 6 weeks you will have learnt the basic skills required to move progress to the next level a Level 2 Certificate in Barbering.



Course Requirements

Good standard of English and a succesful interview.

No previous barbering experience necessary.

Course Progression

Successful completion of the Level 1 will allow you to progress onto an evening part-time Level 2 Certificate in Barbering
Or
Level 1 Hairdressing, Level 2 Ladies Hairdressing, Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship

Course Assessment

Skills test and knowledge you will receive a certificate of participation.

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for those wishing to identify whether barbering is for them as a possible career change in the future.

You will be expected to wear closed toe shoes with a sensible heel and black clothes. Purchase of a brad Manikin head, Clipper with guards and scissors are essential to maximise learning. You may be required to provide live models to practise skills on.
