Applied Science Level 2 Diploma

Course Overview

At this level, you will gain a better understanding of the Principles of Science, by looking at Chemistry and our earth, Biology and the environment and how to apply physical science. Further study of the universe and health applications in life science, will equip you with the knowledge you need to complete assignments and assessment.

Course Requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above which must include English or maths. An interview and assessment to confirm suitability for the course.

Course Skills & Benefits

This course is the equivalent of 4 GCSEs, so you will be able to apply for higher level courses at Level 3 if you successfully complete the qualification. You will also improve your English and maths skills which are very important if you want to work in any aspect of Science.

Course Progression

If you complete this course successfully, at Merit or higher, you will be interviewed for progression onto the higher level 90 Credit Diploma (at Level 3).

Course Assessment

Assessment is by coursework assignments (including written and practical assignments, presentations, observations and special projects), you are required to work to deadlines for the completion of coursework through classroom based and independent study.

Course Finance

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are a resident in the UK and the European Economic Area or have been for the last 3 years. You must be under 19 years old on 31st August in the calendar year you start your course.
