AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping - Level 2 – Accelerated Blended Programme

Course Overview

If you are keen to start training to work in accountancy and financial management, our Level 2 blended course will introduce you to the basics of the industry. The programme is accompanied with e-learning resources to support you in your studies with fortnightly workshops with a dedicated experience tutor.

Course Requirements

You must be aged 19+. You are expected to have achieved GCSE English or Maths at grade C and above but will be asked to complete an initial assessment to ensure your numeracy and literacy skills are sufficient to do well on the course.
It is not a requirement to be currently working in accountancy, although it will be beneficial to you.
The course will run subject to minimum numbers being reached.

2. Bookkeeping Controls

The course runs for an academic year and you will be attending one session per week (approx 3.1/2 hours ) there is a choice of either a daytime or evening session. To be successful in this qualification it is recommended those additional hours of private study is completed. Homework is regularly set.
Assessment is by computerised tests under exam conditions.

The tutors on this course are qualified accountants and have many years' experience in teaching this programme. The programme takes place at our Stockport campus. Face to face sessions are fortnightly and by negotiation with the team on enrolment.

Course Progression

Successful completion of this course will provide you with one of the entrance requirements for the Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

The roles you are qualified to perform after completing this qualification include Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Bookkeeper, Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer, Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk, Tax Assistant/Trainee and Trainee Accounts Technician.

Course Finance

The total fees for the course are £595. This included the AAT assessment costs (£190).

Fees are due at enrolment. Once you have enrolled you are liable for the full course fee, regardless of whether the course is completed or not. You are required to register with the AAT (if not already registered). Membership costs are currently £92 p.a. plus a £43 one off admin fee paid only on initial registration. The membership fee is the student's responsibility and is separate from the course fees.


Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded an AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping - Level 2.
