Young People Across Greater Manchester Come Together to Debate Climate Change

Stockport Climate Crisis

On Friday 5th November, students of Stockport College will join together with young people from across Greater Manchester in a virtual Student Question Time event centred around The Climate Crisis. The theme has been inspired by the COP26 summit that is currently taking place in Glasgow, as the UK host the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties to address the climate crisis and make environmental reforms.

Hosted by Maple Sixth Form with a live audience of students from the college, the Question Time event will see young people from schools and colleges in Stockport and Trafford join together to discuss and debate the responses to issues raised at the summit. A panel of students and guests will lead the conversations, hosted by The Voice of Old Trafford and EA Sports FIFA ’21, Alan Keegan.

Panellist include:

  • Andrew Gwynne, Member of Parliament for Denton and Reddish
  • Melanie Horrocks, Green Party Campaigner
  • Sabine Dunstan, Development Surveyor
  • Donald Moore, Chair of One+All (formerly Rowlinson Knitwear)
  • Nick Leslie, Head of Climate Action Now at Stockport Council
  • Oliver Cullen, Trafford College and Green College Assembly student
  • Liberty Joul, Trafford College and Green College Assembly student
  • Jaie Gowlowska, The Cheadle College and Green College Assembly student
  • Olivia Martin, Marple Sixth Form College and Green College Assembly student
